Mike and Zoey's The Gift of Magi, Ch 5

Back at Zoey’s house, Mike and Zoey were sitting by the open fire. The Christmas song was playing on the radio.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos

“Oh Mike, I love being with you on Christmas to see you open your present.” Zoey said.

“Yeah, me too.” Mike chuckled.

“So wanna open your present with your hat on?” Zoey asked.

Gulping, Mike quickly spoke, “Well… uh… one it‘s rude wearing a hat in the house and why not we open the presents first?” Mike held out a present wrapped in red wrapping and blue ribbon.

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Helps to make the season bright, yeah
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

“But uh… why not you show me that pendant?” Mike asked.

Zoey got nervous and said, “Uh… no Mike, you’re right. Let‘s open the presents first?” Zoey held out a present with light blue wrapping and yellow ribbon.

They know that Santa's on his way
And he's got lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly

Mike and Zoey took one another’s present. They open up their presents by unwrapping the ribbons and opening the boxes.

And so I'm offerin' this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you

Mike gasp to see… light blue yin-yang symbol hat pins.

“Uh… hat pins.” said Mike in surprise. “For my hat.”

Zoey gasp to see a silver chain. “Oh whoa, a silver chain necklace for my… pendant…” Zoey sighed hugging it. “Oh Mike it’s beautiful but… I traded my pendant to get you those pins.”

Mike turns to Zoey and said, “And I traded my hat to get you that chain for your pendant.”

“Oh Mike, you gave up what was most important to you to buy me a gift?” Zoey asked.

Mike smiled and took Zoey’s hand, “Zoey, you‘re the most important to me then anything then a hat.”

Zoey was touched by Mike. “And you‘re my pendant of my heart, Mike.” said Zoey as she hugs Mike. Mike, with a smile, hugs Zoey back and rubs her head.

“Merry Christmas, Mike.” Zoey spoke.

“Merry Christmas, Zoey.” Mike replied.

“Want some eggnog?” Zoey asked, giggling.

“No, I do prefer a kiss.” Mike answered. Zoey, giggling, kisses Mike and they both fall down, off-screen.

A knock on the door was heard making them look up. Mike was covered in lipstick.

“Who‘s there?!” Mike called.

No one answer as music begin to play. Mike and Zoey rush to the window and look. They saw Erin, Skullgal, Wing, Marlin, all of the Skellington and Bobcat family was outside with instruments and booklets. Mike and Zoey came outside wearing their winter coats.

Jack held a baton, taps it in mid-air, and then points at Erin, Skullgal, Wing, Marlin, her new ball, Lita, and Serena.

Skullgal: Skullgal!
Wing: Wing!
Marlin: Marlin!
Ball: Bouncy!
Erin: Erin!
Lita: Lita!
Serena: (higher note) Serena!

The Bobcats and Skeletons played the instruments as the girls sang a song. Mike and Zoey smiled as they watch them sing.

Skullgal: Dashing through the snow
Wing: In a one horse open sleigh
Marlin: O'er the fields we go
Bouncy: Laughing all the way
Erin: Bells on bob tails ring
Lita: Making spirits bright
Serena: What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight

All: OH!

The girls: Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

Mike and Zoey clapped as Skullgal said, “Mike, would you like to be apart of the Skellington family?”

Mike was touched, “Really?!”

“That‘s so sweet!” Zoey exclaimed.

“Since I helped you on Total Drama and got to know you and saw you like a brother,” Skullgal explained.

“And you gave Marlin the best Christmas present!” Wing continued.

“And it was something I can play and cherish!” Marlin giggled.

“You are welcome to our family.” SG finished.

Mike was so happy as he hugs Skullgal.

“And since SG‘s my sister-in-law,” Erin smiled. “You‘re part of the Bobcat family!”

“Sister-in-law!?!” Mike and Zoey asked.

“Why didn‘t you tell us you two were related?” Zoey asked.

“Christmas Surprise!” Erin exclaimed in mid-air with waving legs like Pinkie Pie.

“I married Darien and since he‘s Erin‘s brother and I‘m Skullgal‘s sister, we got married and the Bobcats and Skellingtons are one family!” Serena exclaimed.

“Whoa, Mike, you now have a larger family.” Zoey smiled.

“Yep, but if I‘m part of this family is…” Mike asked.

“Yep, so is Chester, Vito, Sveltana, and Manitoba.” SG nodded.

Erin sighed, “Great, I got Vito as a relative!”

Everyone laughed even the personalities in the talisman. Mike takes Zoey’s hand.

“Uh… can we have our alone time now?” Mike asked.

The whole family called, “OH!” They rushed off except Serena.

“May I…” Serena got cut when SG and Wing’s hand stretched out and grab her pigtails. They pull her away off-screen. “Oh come on!”

Mike and Zoey went back in the house. Zoey turns the radio on again and the last part of Christmas song play.

“Now where were we?” Zoey asked.

“Oh! I remember!” Mike said.

Zoey laughed as Mike pulls down Zoey and they kissed.

Off-screen, we now see Mike and Zoey resting at the open fire. Mike was holding Zoey who was resting on his shoulder.

“Now do you want some eggnog?” Zoey asked before giggling.
